Project Management Consultancy Services for Upgradation of Existing 100 MLD and Construction of New 100 MLD STP at Bhesan (West Drainage Zone)
Appointed as the Project Management Consultant for the augmentation/upgradation of the existing 100 MLD (60+40 MLD) STP and the design and commissioning of a new 100 MLD STP at Bhesan, Surat. The project includes design, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and successful operation of sewage treatment facilities, along with augmentation of the Jahangirpura Sewage Pumping Station. It was undertaken as part of the AMRUT Mission, with 10 years of Operation & Maintenance responsibility.
Scope of Work:
- Preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR), Detailed Design, and Estimates.
- Project Management Consultancy (PMC) during field execution up to successful commissioning.
- Tender document preparation and techno-commercial evaluation for the capital work and 10-year O&M contract.
- Rehabilitation and upgrade of existing 100 MLD capacity STP to include Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) and Biological Phosphate Removal (BPR).
- Design and integration of a 250 KWe Biogas-Based Power Plant and a 600 m³ Double Membrane Gas Holder.
- Augmentation of Jahangirpura Sewage Pumping Station.
- Implementation of a PLC–SCADA system for remote monitoring from Surat Municipal Corporation’s central SCADA room.

Impact:
This project substantially upgraded Surat’s wastewater treatment infrastructure in the western drainage zone. By expanding capacity and incorporating BNR and BPR technologies, the plant ensures enhanced treatment efficiency. The integration of a biogas-based power plant, automated SCADA systems, and long-term O&M provisions enables sustainable and energy-efficient plant operations aligned with national urban sanitation and environmental goals.
